4.比較級(jí)的一些特殊的和其他的用法
(1) 有些形容詞和副詞的比較級(jí)和最高級(jí)有兩種不同形式，它們?cè)谝饬x上也有所不同：
(2)在形容詞和副詞的比較級(jí)前，有時(shí)可以用much，a little，still，far，by far，even，no，any，a great deal等狀語(yǔ)詞來(lái)修飾，表示“更……”、“……得多”等程度意義。例如：
This is taking a little more time than we thought. 這比我們本來(lái)想的要多花一點(diǎn)時(shí)間。
He's for behind me. 他遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)落后于我。
The Pacific is by for the largest ocean and covers almost half of the total ocean area. 太 平洋要大得多，是最大的一個(gè)洋，幾乎占整個(gè)海洋面積的一半。
(3)表示甲與乙在某一方面程度相同時(shí)，用“as+形容詞(副詞)原級(jí)+as”的句型。例如：
They produce waste gases almost as harmful as the gases from factories. 它們(車輛)產(chǎn)生的廢氣幾乎和工廠產(chǎn)生的廢氣一樣有害。
(4)a.表示“幾倍于”、 “比……多(大)幾倍”時(shí)用twice(兩倍)，three times (三倍)等加as…as結(jié)構(gòu)來(lái)表示。
This skirt costs twice as much as that one. 這條裙子比那條貴一倍。
This room is three times as big as that one. 這間房屋比那間大兩倍。
b.可用“…times+名詞”表示“……倍”。
If you offered me six times the amount that you have just offered，I would still take my pound of flesh. 如果你出你剛才所出的錢的六倍，我仍然要我的那磅肉。
This reservoir is four times the size of that one. 這個(gè)水庫(kù)有那個(gè)水庫(kù)的四個(gè)大。
c.可用“…times+形容詞(副詞)比較級(jí)形式+than…”表示“比……多(大、重、長(zhǎng)……)……倍”。
Give me three times more than Antonio borrowed from me. 加三倍還給我安東尼奧的借款吧。
d.另外還有：
He is twice my age. 他的年齡比我大一倍。
The output of plastic for 1977 was twice over that for 1979. 1979年的塑料產(chǎn)量是1977年的兩倍。
The output of paper has more than doubled. 紙張的產(chǎn)量增加了一倍多。
The nation's grain output in l986 was 3.4 times that of l984. 1986年這個(gè)國(guó)家的糧食產(chǎn)量是1984年的3.4倍。
The output of cotton has increased three times as against l986. 棉花產(chǎn)量比1986年增加了兩倍。
The output of oil was more than 2.5 times greater. 油的產(chǎn)量增加了2.5倍。
(5)可用“比較級(jí)+and+比較級(jí)”(后面不接than從句)來(lái)表示“越來(lái)越……”。
But she looked at me and cried harder and harder. 但是她看著我，哭得越來(lái)越厲害。
(6)可用“the+比較級(jí)+the+比較級(jí)”來(lái)表示“越……就越……”。例如：
They discovered that the farther away the feeding station was，the slower the dance was.他們發(fā)現(xiàn)喂食地點(diǎn)越遠(yuǎn)，舞就跳得越慢。
