打從我們學(xué)英語(yǔ)開(kāi)始，就有幾個(gè)長(zhǎng)得很像的單詞時(shí)時(shí)刻刻圍繞著我們，就比如這幾個(gè)“other、the other和another”，與之相關(guān)的短語(yǔ)比較多，用起來(lái)一定要注意了。

就比如咱們今天要學(xué)習(xí)的這個(gè)表達(dá)the other day，可不是“另一天”，那么他到底是哪一天呢?

the other day類(lèi)似于recently，意思是“前兩天”、“不久以前”，另外某一天”可以用another day來(lái)表示，它還含有“又一天，再一天”的意思。

 舉個(gè)例子：

I saw your brother the other day.

前幾天，我看到了你哥哥。

既然我們提到了“other、the other和another”，接下來(lái)我們就好好分析一下，他們幾個(gè)到底有什么區(qū)別?怎么用?

 “other、the other、another”區(qū)別和用法

other意思是“另一”、“另一些”,有復(fù)數(shù)形式。在句子中可作主語(yǔ)、賓語(yǔ)和定語(yǔ)。

舉個(gè)例子：

Some girls are singing under the big apple tree and others are sitting on the grass talking.

有些女孩在大蘋(píng)果樹(shù)下唱歌，別的就躺在草地上說(shuō)話(huà)。

關(guān)于other還有一些很常用的表達(dá)，比如，“in other words 換句話(huà)說(shuō)”、“on the other hand 另一方面;相反”、“other than 不同;不同于”以及“the other way around 倒過(guò)來(lái)，相反地，以相反方式”等等，不管是用在寫(xiě)作還是口語(yǔ)中，都是很“抗打”的表達(dá)。

another意思是“另外”、“又一個(gè)”,表示增加,在句中可作賓語(yǔ)和定語(yǔ)。

接下來(lái)，another表示的“另外的,再一,又一”與the other表示的“另外的一個(gè)”，區(qū)分就更加細(xì)致了，主要從數(shù)量上區(qū)分，只有兩個(gè)時(shí)用the other，在原先基礎(chǔ)上增加用another。

 舉個(gè)例子：

This is one of your socks. Where is the other one?

這是你的一只襪子,還有一只呢?

I have eaten 4 cakes, but I still want another.

我已經(jīng)吃了4塊蛋糕，但是我還要一塊。

最后，我們?cè)賮?lái)看下others與the others的主要區(qū)別：others指“剩余的人/物”(指大部分);the others指“其余的人/物”,(指全部)。

舉個(gè)例子：

A few students are playing soccer while others are watching them.

有幾個(gè)學(xué)生在踢足球，其他一些人在觀看。

Two of the ten boys are standing and the others are sitting round them.

十個(gè)男孩中有兩個(gè)站著，其他人都圍著他們坐著。
